I am a French mom of 2 boys, living in SF, CA. for 7 years now.
What Gets You Cooking is a community of people built around a new, simpler, way to look at food, the way we cook it and share it.
In the last couple of years, I have met a lot of people (here in the US and elsewhere) who want to eat better, healthier and /or want their kids to do so. After reading articles and listening to radio shows and podcasts discussing healthy nutrition and the like, I felt like I knew quite a bit.
My history is family influence. The things I know about cooking are all related to my grandma and my mom cooking a lot… on a daily basis but also having a lot of people over.
Thanks to my education, family, and environment, food and healthy eating are a very important part of my life and I felt a calling to share with others. I am also passionate to connect people and I want to help you discover all kinds of organizations and initiatives in the Bay Area, from farms to markets to restaurants to cooking schools to garden in schools projects.
Because it matters to me to share this knowledge and connect everyone to the food they’re eating,
I want to bring you a new perspective on food from chefs, food banks, farmers, cooking programs, families and schools so we can all help each other in being healthier and feeling better thanks to the food we’re eating.
Everyone is welcome on this platform. People from all cultures and backgrounds, knowing a lot about food or nothing at all, spending lots of time in their kitchen or not, having the time or not, having the money or not. I hope you’re going to join me and suggest other ideas.
What gets you cooking is a blog and a podcast. I interview people revolving around the food industry so we all get to know a little bit more about how our food is grown, how we can prepare it in a way that’s convenient to our lifestyle with options we can afford, and where we may get the help we need.
This community is for all of us so we can exchange and help each other, sharing what we know, and all become less intimidated when it comes to food!
